Types of coal for cleaning moonshine

No matter how confident we are in our own product, but one of the main rules of a quality product is a good cleaning.

There are many ways of cleaning. Experienced moonshiners have already passed the path of trial and error, and many have stopped, it would seem, on a banal, proven method: cleaning with coal.

Moonshiners use birch or coconut charcoal. The first one is more accessible and easier to find. Coconut is more expensive, it dusts less, it is believed that it cleans better.

Pharmacy and barbecue charcoal for a fire are not recommended.

The easiest, fastest way is to insist. The crushed coal is poured into the distillate, the mixture is stirred, left for 20-30 minutes and filtered.

If you are afraid of clouding the product, then pre-rinse it in running water. After that, the coal must be dried and can be used to clean moonshine.
